A Pilgrimage to Self-Love

August 13 - 17, 2025

Joyful Journey Hot Springs

Moffat, Colorado

Heal from food shame, body hatred, and perfectionism as you return to the truth of who you really are.

I'm ready to begin my pilgrimage

Come Home to the Woman You Were Always Meant to Be

This 4-night sacred retreat is a pilgrimage of deep healing—for your body, your relationship with food, and your sense of self-worth.

If you’re ready to go deeper than dieting, deeper than self-help, deeper than "fixing" yourself one more time, this is your invitation to return to unconditional self-love.

Together, we’ll walk the archetypal path of the Maiden, Mother, Queen, and Crone to release shame, soften self-judgment, and reconnect with your soul’s wisdom.

Held at Joyful Journey Hot Springs in the sacred Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Colorado, this retreat offers:

  • Guided EFT Tapping and emotional healing
  • Restorative soaks in geothermal mineral waters
  • Journaling, ritual, movement, and sacred sisterhood
  • Intermittent fasting-inspired meals prepared by a private chef
  • Quiet, desert beauty to help you hear your own truth

This retreat is for women who:

  • Feel the weight of early-life shame around food and body
  • Long to care for themselves with grace instead of guilt
  • Are ready to age with power, softness, and sovereignty

Join us in this safe, sacred space to remember who you are.

“The emphasis on deep feminine energy came at exactly the right time. If you’re feeling the pull but also feeling the resistance, I encourage you to listen to the deeper voice calling you forward.”

My Pilgrimage to Self-Love

I’m Marcella Friel, and over the past decade I’ve helped more than 75,000 women worldwide heal their relationship with food, body, and self-worth.

Through divine grace, I experienced a life-changing realization in my early 50s: I am not my traumas. Where I once believed that my painful past defined me, I now bless it for the gifts it gave me. Among those gifts is the ever-present reminder to love myself unconditionally while being of service to women like you.

Let me help you discover the woman you are beyond any belief that you are broken, bad, or wrong.

    • An ability to listen to your inner wisdom

I really tapped into some emotions that I haven’t had the time or energy for. I worked through my personal abyss of darkness and cleared the pathways to follow my bliss! Thank you again for what was one of my favorite 5 days ever.”

August in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains offers a little of everything—sunshine, rain, and magic.

Mornings are typically mild and sunny, while afternoons often bring warm monsoon rains that pass through quickly. Evenings tend to clear up beautifully, with breathtaking sunsets and the occasional rainbow.

Nights can be chilly, so pack cozy layers and check the local forecast before you travel.

This 4-night retreat is structured as a sacred pilgrimage through the archetypal path of feminine healing.

Each day is devoted to a different stage of the journey—Maiden, Mother, Queen, and Crone—guiding you into deeper layers of self-love, body acceptance, and emotional freedom.

Our rhythm is both structured and spacious, with a mix of group teaching, journaling, guided EFT Tapping, movement, ritual, and restorative time for soaking in the healing waters or walking the sacred land.

Wednesday – Arrival + Opening Ritual
Settle into the space, meet your fellow pilgrims, and take part in a sacred opening ritual to invoke the four archetypes and begin your journey inward.

Thursday – The Maiden & The Mother
We begin by reconnecting with your younger self and healing the early roots of shame and body image struggles. In the afternoon, we turn toward your relationship with your mother—what you inherited, what shaped you, and how you can begin to re-mother yourself with compassion and grace.

Friday – The Queen & The Crone
The Queen invites you to reclaim your power and release perfectionism. The Crone helps you honor your body’s wisdom, aging, and mortality as sacred thresholds into truth and love.

    Saturday – Integration + Celebration
A gentle pilgrimage off-campus to local spiritual landmarks, followed by plenty of spacious rest. We’ll close the day (and the retreat) with a sound bath under the stars to seal in your transformation.

    Sunday – Departure
Morning soak and heartfelt goodbyes. Check-out by 10 a.m.

    Daily Flow Includes:
Sunrise soak + light, hydrating breakfast

Morning teaching, EFT Tapping, and journaling
Midday buffet-style lunch + spacious rest

Every part of the pilgrimage is intentional, and your presence matters.

Our meals are designed to support gentle nourishment, digestive ease, and intuitive eating—all lovingly prepared by our private retreat chef.

We follow an intermittent fasting-inspired rhythm, offering:

    • A light, hydrating breakfast (fresh juice, bone broth-based soup, vegetarian option)

    • A buffet-style lunch with a variety of simple, whole foods, dressings, and toppings to mix and match

    • Snacks and herbal teas available throughout the day

    • No formal supper is provided, but optional dinner can be purchased from Joyful Journey

Meals are served communal and casual in the Casita. While we can't customize every dish, the buffet-style setup allows you to build your own plate in a way that works for your body.

There will be no alcohol served during the retreat.

Cannabis is legal in Colorado, and Joyful Journey is a cannabis-friendly space. You’re welcome to bring your own alcohol or cannabis for personal use in the evenings, after sessions have concluded.

We simply ask that you arrive at all retreat activities in an alcohol- and cannabis-free state, to support the clarity and sacredness of our group container.

This retreat is for you if you’re ready to go deeper than dieting, deeper than self-help, deeper than “fixing” yourself one more time.

It’s for you if you’re feeling haunted by early-life memories of body shame that still show up when you look in the mirror.

It’s for you if you want to love yourself enough to know that your needs matter too, and you’re ready to live your life with self-care coming first.

And it’s for you if you want to live out your later years as the beautiful, luminous woman of wisdom that you are.

If you’re ready to look yourself deeply in the eye and say, “I love you no matter what,” this retreat is for you.

Retreat tuition is non-refundable, as your registration secures your space in a small, intimate group and supports significant planning on our end.

That said, if you need to cancel, I’ll gladly offer you a 6-month credit toward working with me—through private coaching, the Women, Food & Forgiveness Academy, or another program.

I strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind in case of illness, emergencies, or unexpected changes.
